The symbolic church ruins
The ruins of St. Nicholas Church are one of Trzęsacz’s most iconic and evocative landmarks. Although only the southern wall and part of the presbytery remain, this place carries centuries of history. The original church was built between the 13th and 14th centuries, but due to coastal erosion, the sea began reclaiming the land on which it stood.
The first wall collapsed in 1901. The most recent landslides occurred in 1994, and in 2002, stabilization efforts were carried out to preserve what remains.
